Freestyle Sessions x Skill@Will Anniversary
Skill@Will celebrated its anniversary jam hosted by Rohan AKA Bboy Versastyle at Fortitude Valley PCYC Brisbane with all-style and bboy battles (Freestyle Session). Freestyle Session had given us an oppurtunity to sponsor their event. This is the first time Mind Society has ever officially been a sponsor. Big shout out to Rohan and all the boys/girls who supported us during our time there.
The 2v2 all-style battles showcased a wide array of dancers showing off their unique styles, technique and musicality. Chris Cielo and Jazi from Golden Coastline took the win in the finals after facing MZK's Bboy Katsu and Bboy Pollo.
Freestyle Session is a large scale international breaking competition featuring 3v3 and 1v1 battles. Qualifiers are held in various countries across the globe and the winners represent their country at the world finals in LA.
This year, the judges searched the cyphers for the thirty-two top Australian competitors to face off in a tournament style battle. With intense match-ups, competitors brought the energy and hype to the floor, throwing down everything they had until only two remained for the finals.
In the finals, Skill@Will's Bboy Yogi clashed with Bboy Yayo, who represents FreshSox, MZK and Nacaals. Yogi took the victory as the battle ended early due to Yayo unfortunately suffering from a knee injury. Without having his spirits dampened, Yayo proudly announced Nice Fest, one of the largest upcoming Bboy events in Melbourne. Please check this link for more info on Nice Fest.

Along with the battles, there was an open trick cypher where all dancers were encouraged to show off their best tricks and combos with the judges picking who they believe displayed the best moves. After ten minutes, Bboy Tee/Choccy Thunda from Team Cream was chosen as the champion of the cypher.
At the end of the event with DJ Nipples still on the decks, we got down with Bboy Benny, Chris Cielo and Jackson from Team Cream/Golden Coastline to film and they showed us why they and their crews are highly reputable.
